It's surprisingly easy to make this fancy creme brulee at home!
To transport yourself to Europe, close your eyes and indulge in this delicious creme brulee. You’ll be surprised to know that this fancy dessert is relatively simple to whip up at home. This version elevates the classic creme brulee by adding raspberries, dark chocolate, and espresso. The contrasting texture between the caramelized sugar layer on top and the creamy custard below makes this timeless dessert one that people can’t get enough of!
- 6-9 fresh raspberries
- 1 tsp espresso, finely ground
- 2 tsp dark chocolate, finely grated
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/4 Cup sugar
- 1 1/2 Cup heavy cream
- 1/2 vanilla bean, seeds
- 3 tbsp sugar
In three brulee dishes, press down into each raspberries (save some for garnish), sprinkle of espresso and sprinkle of chocolate. In medium bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar. Add cream, whisk till blended. Stir in seeds of vanilla bean. Pour gently into brulee dishes to ¾ full. Set into roasting pan with hot water coming up half way on dishes. Bake in 350 degree F. oven for 30-35 minutes. Chill before garnishing. Sprinkle each with sugar. Using kitchen torch, flame sugar till bubbling and caramelized. Allow to cool before serving. Finish garnishing with more raspberries, espresso beans and chocolate curls.
