Learn How To Prepare Gordon Ramsay’s Vegetarian Herb Cakes!

Gordon Ramsay’s Halloumi Courgette & Herb Cakes are a delicious, healthy, and completely vegetarian dish that will delight your taste buds!

With a new year just beginning, many people have decided it’s the right time to refocus on their health and fitness goals. In order to give their health a fresh start, people often vow to cut back on their meat consumption. As tasty as meat is, eating too much of it has been linked to health problems, including high blood pressure and high cholesterol. And in early January, 28,000 pounds of dangerous meat were recalled from seven states after the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service found that it was contaminated with E.coli, which can cause dehydration and severely upset your stomach.

If you, like many others, are seeking out new healthy vegetarian dishes, try out this flavor-packed recipe from Chef Gordon Ramsay. On this episode of “Gordon Ramsay’s Ultimate Home Cooking,” Chef Ramsay shows how he makes his absolutely divine Halloumi Courgette & Herb Cakes. Stuffed with savory veggies, Halloumi cheese, and fried to perfection, you won’t have a single thought about missing meat when you chow down on these delicious herb cakes!

All you need to make Gordon Ramsay’s Halloumi Courgette & Herb Cakes at home is to follow the steps in the above clip. However, there are a few steps you absolutely can’t skip to make sure you pull the maximum amount of flavor from the vegetables. First, it’s important you grate all the vegetables in the same way. While this step is more for enhancing the texture of the herb cakes, it does improve the flavor. But what’s really crucial is to make sure to squeeze and drain all excess liquid from the veggies. This boosts the flavor of the vegetables and is important for maintaining the structure of the herb cakes.

In addition, Gordon Ramsay almost always recommends combining herbs to season vegetarian dishes. For this dish, Gordon Ramsay uses mint and coriander. When different herbs are combined well, their flavors work in tandem to complement each other. However, Gordon still recommends tasting your mixture for the herb cakes before you fry them. This will allow you to make any last-minute adjustments to the seasoning that you deem necessary before it’s too late!

Lastly, don’t forget to make the chile dressing to put a spicy finishing touch on your herb cakes! Chile naturally plays off the flavors of the cheese and veggies, while also providing a desirable kick! If you make your chile dressing like Gordon Ramsay’s, it will be the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, and sour!
