- 1 Cup Sugar
- Orange Zest
How to Make Cranberry Sauce at Home the Easy Way
Gather all of your ingredients, which include 1 bag of cranberries, 1 cup of orange juice and 1 cup of sugar. Set aside one orange so you can add some zest to your sauce and as a garnish.
Over a medium-high heat, dissolve your sugar in orange juice, and then add the bag of cranberries to your pan.
After a few minutes, the cranberries will start to pop! Cook down until you reach the consistency your family likes. For instance, stop cooking if you want a bit of texture and bite to your sauce, or continue if you want something closer to a jam or sauce. As a final step, zest a bit of fresh orange skin, and cook down a bit so you can add a bit of brightness to your sauce.
Transfer to a serving dish, and let cool. Garnish with a bit more orange zest right before serving.
