Cesar Millan is Attacked by a One-Eyed Dog While Touring in Hong Kong
Cesar Millan travelled abroad to Hong Kong to rehabilitate a dog, but is bitten in his hotel room.
While on a stop in Hong Kong during his world tour to address unruly dogs and their owners, Cesar Millan is attacked by a one-eyed dog so badly that it draws blood.
Cesar Millan encounters Duk Duk, a dog that shows extreme anxiety and aggression. His fear is so bad that he often lashes out and attacks his owners.
Cesar assesses that the situation is so dangerous he needs to separate Duk Duk from his owners. However, when Cesar tries to place Duk Duk in his car to whisk him away, he poses his first challenge to the world renowned dog trainer: he refuses to enter Cesar's car. Duk Duk thrashes relentlessly.
"I can't back down because I need to gain his respect."
Cesar Millan breaks it down for Duk Duk: just touch the cooler, and we'll work from there. After gaining his trust through repetitive touches on the cooler, Cesar is able to coax Duk Duk into the trunk of his car.
Cesar sends the message that he is NOT trying to harm him, but rather that he's simply trying to get him to ride the car.
While Cesar has achieved this small victory, the job is not over.
"Duk Duk is a terrified dog. He has bitten before, and he does this to protect himself, and especially when people are trying to put his muzzle on. I want Duk Duk to get over his fear of the muzzle. Me doing this will create this bond, and will give me trust AND respect."
Now at Cesar's hotel, he senses the tense situation, and he starts off slowly.
"This is the presentation of the muzzle. You know, me reaching out, so he doesn't feel that as soon as I have the muzzle in my hand that I'm going to go put it on his mouth. That's how they feel trapped."
The pressure continues to rise as Duk Duk cannot get over his anxiety and trust issues and arches his back.
However, Cesar persists and is able to place the muzzle on Duk Duk!
"He was still a LITTLE scared, but he showed me a lot of trust and he didn't bite."
Cesar now wants to see if he has established enough trust with Duk Duk to allow him to touch his leg.
This is something the owners would NEVER do to Duk Duk.
Duk Duk lets out a loud yelp and immediately bites Cesar's hand!
The bite is so bad that it Cesar starts dripping blood in his hotel bathroom!
